shoot the flying demon...

Still playing around with some new things and figuring out what works and what doesn't. I love experimenting with Photoshop's tools, and so this got the brunt of it. While not completely happy, I learned a couple of points along the way, so can't complain. Oh, and Brotherhood's almost here!

wasteland...

Just a quick update.

many faces...

Found this in a folder on the desktop. It was a rejected sketch from a gallery a couple of years ago. I don't care to work on old stuff, but I fixed a few things, still really rough, but couldn't throw it away.

wrong castle...

This is what happens when you start whistling the mario theme all day!

… and below are a bunch of trailer studies. Some recent, some old, but since Andrew Domachowski's been putting out so many sweet studies, I thought I'd share as well. Kudos to those that guess what films!

rejected...

My submission for the Assassin's Creed art book put together by Ubiworkshop. Didn't get picked, but it was really fun nonetheless. Can't wait to get my hands on the book, so make sure to check it out!

mixed bag...

Well, its been a couple months now and I'm feeling back to my old self. I've finally updated my website with a simplified layout that's easier to manage. Nothing new, just no longer a nuisance with my basic HTML skills! Also, while I've entered a few contests I haven't been able to show any works on my blog, but below is an entry at parkablogs. Check out the site and some amazing entires by other artists, and thanks for all the kind words posted.

I'm also back to experimenting and the image below is a culmination of several different things I was playing with. So so on the results...

Finally (and might I add off topic), I was working away at my desk when I looked out to the street and saw something small squirming around. I ran out and realized it was this small fella right smack dab in the middle. He seemed in perfectly good health, and after several hours Googling my way through the web finding ways to help, I was able to reunite him with his momma. Good times!

a matter for Monet...

While most of his travels will take him through inspired landscapes, the figure is bound to find some famous faces. Finding himself in need of help, the figure looks to a master.

the Pollock fields...

An environment within the same project as the previous post. While a majority of the environments are set in a world not unlike our own, it was fun to let loose with some of the more alien settings that are based on abstract works.

van Gogh fortress...

Another piece from a personal project that hasn't left me for a while. It's been stuck in my head, changing as new ideas pop in. I'm trying not to force things out, seeing how it evolves, but I guess it's a good sign that it lingers somewhere in my head.

some stuff...

Well, after some wonderful problems with my Wi-Fi and battery this month, and more importantly, becoming an uncle to a little bundle of awesomeness, I'm back to updates. Though I must admit, with the weather this nice, I feel almost as lazy as my bud below!

For some concepts, my good friend Joel Wijeyesekera and I have been creating some fun stuff surrounding the Assassin's Creed world. Check those out below as well as the artist/photographer extraordinaire in the links to the right.

the horror of jello...

Honestly, I don't know why this image has been floating around my head for a couple of months, but I had to get it out. I mean, what could be happier than jello?

ghillie suit FAIL!

A piece inspired by Ashley Wood's World War Robot paintings. Check out his site, which is updated very often, to see some of his progress works and studio. Links to the side. Oh, an be sure to google the amazing figures based on his works from 3A!

retiring...

One of the kindest souls I've ever met, Hugh LeRoy has been a wonderful instructor, and I know everyone that's had the pleasure to know this artist, can only sing his praises. Hopefully he doesn't mind me putting this up here!

inspired...

Rather than just adding links in the side bar to some of my favourite artists, I've decided to show a series of tributes I did to some of these amazing talents. Granted, I was only able to choose a handful for this project, mostly focusing on difference in subject matter and style, but I thought it would be a whole lot more interesting than just pasting them to the right.

The first two of these works were inspired by Bill Cone, Ralph Eggleston, and Dominiqe Louis from some of their Pixar work. Unfortunately, the latter two have no personal sites that I've found, but Bill Cone has a wonderful blog showcasing some of his en plain air work in soft pastels. Make sure to read up on some of his thoughts, setup and process. Truly great stuff. Enjoy.

Wood bots...

Started out as a drawing and ended up as a demo for class. I chose to work in the style and subject matter of some of my favourite artists that have inspired me over the years. Hopefully I haven't butchered Ashley Wood's work too much. If so, my apologies. Either way, I'll hopefully get a few more up.

continued...

The fourth in the series. Originally, there were more creatures this duo 'bothered', but like always, time didn't allow it. Maybe I'll finally add that monstrous crab as an extra piece! The pencil drawing below as well.
